Lighting Charcoal Grills

There are several ways to light a charcoal grill. On the one hand, the fuel can be ignited directly. For this charcoal or briquettes are piled up in a pyramid. Subsequently, three solid paraffin-based igniters per 0.5 kg or of compressed wood fiber pieces are added and ignited. Alternatively, liquid grill lighters of dearomatized kerosene oil or gel concentrates of pure N-paraffin are applied to three to four passages of walnut size and ignited.

An inexpensive option is the use of egg cartons: separate the individual trays, place some below the fuel and light. Gasoline or spirits are taboo when barbecuing, because they can produce dangerous jet flames!

We recommend that you use LANDMANN’s specially environmentally friendly wax-impregnated wool.
